Merrill Saddle

Freedom of Motion for the Horse: The benefits of the tree flexion frees up the shoulders while the in skirt rigging displaces the cinching pressure and positions the cinch so that the horse has a full range of motion on his front legs.

The new, improved tree now has fiberglass reinforced wood cantle, swells, ground seat & bars allowing for a more secure placement of the conchos increasing the strength. The front bars are molded separate using a nylon polymer. Also, with the new tree, you can even dally around the horn to pony another horse.

The premise is that the bars in the front flex to accept the shoulder. When you cinch up, they will flex inward to conform to the horse. There is essentially no difference with fit for the horse and rider with the new trees.

Balance for the Rider: How the tree fits the horse and the seat to the rider, as well as the designed swing and travel of the fenders, gives the rider the freedom of balance to letting them be where they want to be. Each saddle weighs approximately 25 lbs.

Merrill Barrel Pad

Three Forks Saddlery and Neil Merrill are now producing the revolutionary Merrill Barrel Pad and Three Forks Roper Pad & Trail Pad. This signature, seamless pads are built with laminated contoured construction for a superb fit. A memory foam top allows the pad to thin out and disperse pressure evenly while the bottom foam layer is a full rebound material to accept shock at every stride.

The advanced design of these pads allows for the bridging of technology and a hand-crafted product that offers many orthopedic benefits. Both styles come equipped with your choice of either a hospital grade felt bottom or neoprene bottom.

The barrel pads and trail pads come with either square or rounded corners. Both of these pads have a foam thickness of 5/8 inches. The Three Forks Roper Pad are available in a 1-inch thickness.
